The successful practice of accountancy known today as R. J. Sayas Accounting Office can be traced to its humble beginnings in the 1960's, when a man named Francisco G. Sayas faced the challenge of establishing an accounting firm that caters to the accounting and taxation needs of small and medium-sized companies. He knew all along that he is bound to succeed because of a special "ingredient" that will set him apart from other practitioners. That special "ingredient" is the personal touch he extends to his clients. To him, clients are not just clients. Clients are also friends, business partners, and people.

This time-tested ingredient was eventually handed down to Renato J. Sayas, his successor, who took over the accounting firm in 1995. The notable changes that were introduced after the take over are as follows:
